12 WEEKS OF SUMMER 2021

There is something magical about summer to me. It's this stretch of time where lots happens and yet time feels like it's standing still all at once. It always ends too soon. Myriam of Farah Photography and I created this joint project to commit to document our summers. One photo, one moment to represent what summer was for us that week.

Week 12 - So long summer, hello hockey arenas

Nail polish sale, banana cream pie order, Minecraft cookies, last minute hockey skate shopping, slush puppie fail -banana medicine slush mystery, nutella toast, early am practices, skateboard lesson 2, I don't want to die, the tire incident, hello again jello, we'll get another blue bowl.

Week 11 - Peace

Week of lasts and firsts, last day of summer vacation, rolling down the big hill, pirates!, dessert for lunch, body wash in the pool, first day of school, last school drop off, first skateboard lesson, channeling Bob Ross, spicey nuggets taste test.

Week 10 - Bolleyball

Back to school shoe shopping, car poutine, skate parks, sunset volleyball, no more oh henry, DQ parking lot goodbyes, park dates, trampoline video calls.

Week 9 - Birthday balloon pick-up

McKenzie King and whine, sunset at the museum and oh henry, trampoline volleyball, finally 8, first skateboard, Minecraft cake, OCR academy birthday heatwave, sleepover.

Week 8 - Bedtime ritual

Birthday(s) prep, Toys r us scouting, Oh henry blizzard, late bedtimes, noise maker wake up calls, keeping the ice cream cake cool, swimming in our clothes, Vieux Aylmer festival, BMX and bouncey castles, chicken car and trampoline with matante, sun scream.

Week 7 - Butter tarts

Week 6 - Minecraft is life

Literally, sweet smell of school supplies, mini putt x3, hole in one meltdown, parks x 11, meltdown, night at the museum, meltdown, Debout, more IKEA, basketball and soccer with the cousins, perler beads everywhere, diamond art, mommy do you want to play Minecraft with me...please.

Week 5 - Swimming in the rain

IKEA, welcome home chocolate and minky, non-beer pong lessons from grandma, swimming in the rain, perler beads for everyone, backyard camping, so many play dates, basement flooding.

WEEK 4 - Everything is fine

Haircuts by mom, pet fly in the house, daily swims, pool football girls vs boys, splash pad visits with the cousins, park hopping, family time, ninja warrior monkey bars, Buddy vs Duff 3, twinning socks/shorts/tshirts, chair spinning contests.

Week 3 - Hold on

Rodney love, sleepover at Grandma and Grandpas, surprise DQ blizzard and caramel sundae, marina, nightly park visits until bedtime, splash pad dares, bye bye poopy sandal, tout beigne, market samosas, Bandito, Skipbo, it's Friday night agt duets.

Week 2 - Getting Ready

Geocache fail and broken phone, getting ready for visitors, almost done mom, swim and supper with grandma and grandpa, floor is lava balloon edition, Minecraft and Roblox obsession, drive thru air show, Ikea cinnamon buns, lost and found hat, monkey bar blisters, bbq with friends, swimming until sunset.
